Sonthia Coleman
My name is Sonthia Coleman. I’m a native of New Orleans, La born on September 12, 1985. My obsession with fashion started in 2003 with my first fashion show production entitled Expressions of DiVa Fashion Show.Since then, I have produced three fashion shows independently. My fashion education began with my attendance of John Casablanca Modeling School. I was trained in makeup application and fashion modeling. I received a Bachelors in Science with a Concentration in Fashion Studies and minor in Marketing from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond,La.
In addition, to my education I decided to gain fashion industry experience by studying independent fashion studies in Milan, Italy. I had the pleasure of visiting and researching fashion houses, textiles mills, and luxury fashion markets.
Returning to New Orleans I was able work as fashion stylist for personal clients, New Orleans Film Commission projects, and other fashion productions.
I’ve had the pleasure of working for couture designers such as Harold Clarke.
I partnered with styling special events such as the Wheel of Fortune New Orleans with Vanna White and Celebrity fashion stylist Roberta Wagner.
For over 10 years I taught fashion education for major retailer’s . I also worked in a wide range positions from executive level as visual merchandiser to trend-forecaster for the fashion elite. My fashion insight is shared with my membership of the Fashion Group International of New York Division. Finally, I’m freelance fashion writer for WISH Magazine for the Times Picayune of New Orleans.
I reside in New Orleans , La with my fashionable dog named London and my personal fashion blog in entitled fashionnotion55.tumblr.com to document all my experiences.
